Deputy Simonton started his law enforcement career in 1987 as a jailer for the Palo Pinto County Sheriff's Office, where he became the Assistant Jail Administrator.  He then went to the Parker County Sheriff's Office where he worked as a detention officer working his way up to become a Sheriff's Deputy and tactical team leader.  He then moved on to the Mineral Wells Police Department.  While at Mineral Wells, Simonton worked as patrol, training, and FTO sergeant as well as the tactical commander for the joint tactical team and was administrator over the police and court computer system.  Simonton is now currently serving Palo Pinto County as the Facilities Maintenance Coordinator. 

Simonton and his wife have 5 children and they attend and teach at the Indian Creek Baptist Church in Mineral Wells.
