Casey was born in Jacksboro.  He moved to Palo Pinto during his teenage years.  He has lived most of his life on the Ryan Ranch in Palo Pinto County.  Upon graduation from Graford High School, Casey entered and completed Weatherford College Police Academy.  He began his law enforcement career as a police officer with the City of Mineral Wells.  There he received the Rookie of the Year Award and was a member of the SWAT team.  Casey then became a police officer for the City of Jacksboro.  He raised, trained, and handled a drug dog for the K-9 unit in Jacksboro.  He also received the Officer of the Year award.  Casey then moved to the Jack County Sheriff's Department where he worked for several years as a deputy.  Casey and his family decided to return to Palo Pinto County where he joined the Sheriff's department.  He took a brief break from law enforcement in 2004 to work as a foreman for the Ryan Ranch.  Casey worked as the captain of the reserves for Palo Pinto County Sheriff's Office at this time.  He is excited to be back at the department full time again.  Casey, his wife, and three children live in Palo Pinto County, and are actively involved at the Indian Creek Baptist Church in Mineral Wells.
